Sweet and Sour Chicken
This is a delicious Chinese sweet and sour recipe

Sweet and Sour Chicken is a simple recipe that can be found in any Chinese restaurant. This is an easy dish to make despite the lengthy ingredient list.
Bite sized chicken with a crunchy coating is covered in a sauce where the flavors of sweet plum sauce and ketchup are complimented by rice vinegar. Hot chili sauce is also added to bring a bit of spice to this recipe.
This recipe is for two people. You will need to double it for a family sized meal.
Sweet and Sour Chicken Recipe
Main Ingredients:
2 boneless and skinless chicken breast halves (cut into bite-size pieces)
1 green or red bell pepper, cut into squares
1 stalk scallion (cut into 1-inch lengths)
2 cloves finely chopped garlic
Oil for frying
Batter:
4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons corn starch
1/2 cup water
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Sauce Ingredients:
3 tablespoons ketchup
3 tablespoons hot chili sauce
1 teaspoon plum sauce
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon Rice vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Oyster sauce
3 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon corn starch
2 tablespoons oil
Preparation:
Start some White Rice.
Mix the batter in a bowl and add the chicken cubes into the batter.
Mix the sweet and sour sauce in a small bowl and set aside.
Heat up cooking oil in a wok or frying pan
Shake off the extra batter on chicken and deep fry
Transfer the chicken out on a plate lined with paper towels to soak up the excess oil.
Drain out the oil except for 2 tablespoons.
Cook the bell peppers. Stir-fry until you smell the aroma.
Add garlic and saute the garlic until light brown
Now add the sweet and sour sauce into the wok and bring it to boil.
Toss in the chicken, add the chopped scallions, dish out and serve immediately with steamed white rice.
For a family meal you will need to double this recipe.
